But overall, the Evil Within 2 improved the first one in almost every other aspect, even adding some mini-games when you visit our beautiful nurse, Tatiana. They felt like they were missing a bit of spice, which I enjoyed very much from the first game, even if they scared the heck outta me and gave me constant anxiety when trying to beat the game ('tis but a small price to pay). I think the only 'bad' thing about the 2nd game is that the bosses didn't feel as memorable as the one's in the first game. Very easy to follow and also very compelling to find out all the mystery within the world. We get a much deeper look into Sebastian's family and everything that happened. However, this game does an extremely better job at telling a clearer story, since our main focus is retrieving our daughter from an evil corporation. I felt like the first game had a lot of things it wanted to cover story-wise, from crazy characters, a mental asylum, experiments, a black company etc! So the plot sometimes got confusing and convoluted. For the second game it feels very open world since you can explore anything and everything you like as you please, compared to the first game where it felt very linear (although i'm a fan of both). I couldn't be more than thrilled! This review may have some light spoilers about the first and second one, so please keep that in mind.įirst of all, you can definitely tell the graphics of the game infinitely improved this time around compared to the first. I didn't know about the Evil Within until I played it last year and I fell in love with it! I was craving more and I was so happy to learn that they had made a sequel.
